Stanley forward Kayden Jackson has been nominated for Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month for his performances in August.

The EFL nomination reads: “Signed from Barnsley in the summer, the 23-year-old scored four goals in as many games to begin his Stanley career. Direct, quick and full of running, his link-up play is shown by the understanding he has already formed with Billy Kee.

Jackson is up against former Stanley defender Joe Jacobson, who has been nominated for his performances with Wycombe Wanderers, Luton Town striker James Collins and Newport County’s Frank Nouble.

The 23-year-old made a flying start to his career at the Wham Stadium, scoring just nine minutes into his Stanley debut against Colchester on the opening day.

He followed that up with a brace away at Yeovil the following week before grabbing his sides opening goal again during the 2-1 win over Mansfield.

The winner will be announced on Friday.
