Next up for the Reds is the long trip to South Wales.

Newport and Stanley have very different aspirations for the end of the season but the points will be just as important for both sides.

Stanley will hope their run can go on for their trip to Newport.

John Coleman’s side remain in play-off contention thanks to their 15 match unbeaten streak.

But that now comes under threat against a County side who beat them earlier in the season.

Stanley’s unbeaten run is now 15 matches after a win and a draw over the Easter weekend.

They’ve won three of their last five games away from home and kept clean sheets on their last two trips.

Coleman’s men are eleventh in the league table, two points shy of the top seven.

Team News

Stanley have no new injury concerns ahead of the game with a virtually full strength squad to select from.

After making his 100th Stanley appearance on Monday, Matty Pearson could continue in the midfield role he’s been deployed in recently.

Newport County

It’s been a tough season for Newport, who have spent much of the campaign in the bottom two and are on their third manager in a year.

A poor start led to the departure of Warren Feeney but his replacement Graham Westley was unable to improve their fortunes.

Michael Flynn has taken charge since and taken the Exiles from double figures adrift to just a point from climbing out of the relegation places.

Michael Flynn was appointed as Caretaker Manager in March 2017 following the departure of Graham Westley.

He has a long connection to the Exiles having come through the Youth Team ranks before breaking into the 1st team as a teenager in 1999.

After an excellent playing career which included Wigan Athletic, Gillingham, and Blackpool, Flynn returned to County in 2012 and was part of the promotion winning team that put Newport County AFC back in the Football League.

Over the years, Flynn has had many roles at the club including Director of the Academy, First Team Coach, Football and Business Development Director, and is now at the helm of the club.
