After back to back away games it’s back to the Wham Stadium for Stanley.

A thrilling midweek draw at Mansfield got a point on the board, now the focus must be all three.

A hectic February continues for the Reds as the run of Saturday-Tuesday matches continues.

Further improvements in home form would be welcome, as would more points as they look to climb away from the bottom two.

Victory would see John Coleman’s side do the double over the U’s having won at the Weston Homes Community Stadium in September.

Stanley rediscovered their goalscoring touch in midweek, finding the net in four times in the draw at Mansfield.

Coleman’s team have gone four home games without defeat and will be out for a second successive victory at the Wham Stadium having defeated Notts County last time out.

The Reds are 20th in the League Two table, just a point above the relegation places.

Team News

Defender Janoi Donacien won’t feature after picking up his tenth booking of the season at Mansfield – he now serves a two match ban.

Terry Gornell could be back in contention though after returning to training after an ankle injury.

Winger Erico Sousa is still awaiting international clearance after signing a deal until the end of the season and will only feature if that arrives in time.

Colchester are back in the fourth tier for the first time in 18 years following relegation brought about by a 23rd place finish in League One last season.

New head coach John McGreal was appointed in the summer and has set about getting the U’s into contention for an immediate return.

They’ve had an up and down campaign but remain in touch with the play-off places ahead of kick off.

Former Tranmere, Ipswich and Burnley defender John McGreal was appointed Colchester’s head coach in May of this year.

He had been coaching the under 21’s at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

He set about giving opportunities to young players who have come through the ranks and balancing an attacking style with defensive strength.
