It’s been an exciting week for the #UpInLights campaign with over £7,000 now raised towards an electronic scoreboard at the Wham Stadium.

Here’s a quick recap of what’s been going on since the launch in November, where we aim to raise £40,000 for the scoreboard.

We’ve seen cricketing legend and Stanley fan, David ‘Bumble’ Lloyd, sign for the club via the campaign. David brings with him years of experience and with “a left foot like Hoddle” we can’t wait to see Bumble in action.

Stanley also completed the signing of their oldest ever player, Ken Clarke! At 74 years old, he hopes to bring some experience to the squad, and Coley has already expressed his excitement at seeing Ken out on the training pitch with the players!

The first #UpInLights auction has also taken place. The auction offered fans the chance at a unique match-day experience. The winner, Zahid Hussein, will join the players in the changing room before and after the game. He’ll also sit on the bench during the match and will even get his name on the official matchday team-sheet!

This week we also released limited edition Matty Pearson signed prints of our famous 1-0 win over Burnley. There are only a few in existence and they’re only available via the campaign.

We have many more opportunities coming up during the campaign. Not least the upcoming ‘Breakfast with Bumble’. This is for local businesses that are looking to do their bit for the #UpInLights campaign.

We’re already over 20% towards achieving our £40,000 target – together we’ll get Stanley #UpInLights!
