John Coleman admitted his team’s performance was ‘not good enough’ as they lost 2-0 at Barnet.

John Akinde scored on 32 minutes for the Bees before sub Jean Louis Akpa-Akpro fired home on the hour with Stanley offering little in attack.

With frontmen Billy Kee and Shay McCartan injured, Coleman also lost Terry Gornell in the 14th minute to injury which left his strikeforce short.

“Firstly I want to thank the fans for travelling as it’s a long trip and if they do it again on Tuesday to Wycombe, they deserve a medal,” said Coleman.

“Today we did not turn up and the performance wasn’t good enough. They allowed us to have a lot of the ball and we flattered to deceive.

“Barnet were more clinical than us, they took their chanceS, and they were worthy winners.

“We had no cutting edge, I didn’t see enough desire today and we surrendered meekly and our travelling fans deserved better.

“It is unfortunate that the injuries have all come in one position and we have lost three recognised centre forwards but we have to soldier on.”
