Defender Liam Goulding has signed on a one-year extension to his Accrington Stanley contract.

The 20-year-old came through the youth ranks at the Wham Stadium, captaining the side in their successful run to the last 16 of the FA Youth Cup in 2013.

He has made a number of unused substitute appearances for the Reds and spent time on loan at Ashton United, Chorley and Marine last season.

“Liam has had plenty of non-league appearances under his belt now and will be looking to make a step up into the first team,” said manager John Coleman. “It’s time for Liam to kick on now.”
