John Coleman insists no players will be leaving Accrington Stanley in January despite increased speculation with the opening of the transfer window.

Josh Windass, Matt Crooks and Tom Davies have been linked with moves away from the Wham Stadium but Coleman insists that no one will leave – unless there is a ‘ridiculous’ offer.

And he says instead there may be one or two additions – although he won’t be bringing anyone in just for the sake of it.

“I am confident that the same players will be here by the end of the season with possibly more additions,” said Coleman.

“I do not want to bring people in to sit on the bench and we are quite a settled side with the players chomping at the bit.

“We will see if the one or two we are looking at can add something different but there is no rush to bring people in. There are one or two younger ones who might go out on loan but I don’t envisage anyone else leaving.”

Windass and Crooks have been repeatedly linked to a move to Rangers but Coleman said: “They would only leave if someone comes in with a ridiculous offer which would be around £1m.

“I don’t think £1m is a ridiculous offer for Josh in today’s market but he is out of contract at the end of the season.

“There are a couple of clubs trying to pinch him on the cheap but that won’t happen.

“There is close contact between the owner Andy Holt, chairman Peter Marsden and myself.  Andy is new to this but Peter knows the ropes when it comes to transfers and I have obviously been doing this a long time.

“Between the three of us we will get it right. We have all got a common ground of getting Accrington Stanley promoted and we have a realistic chance this season.”
