John Coleman has said no one will be sold in the January transfer window.

Scouts have been flocking to the Wham Stadium to watch Stanley’s in-form players with Josh Windass linked to a £1m move into the Premier League in one of the national newspapers this week.

But, ahead of Saturday’s home clash with Newport County, Coleman has reaffirmed that this squad will be staying together until the end of the campaign.

“We will be taking no bids in January,” said Coleman. “I know the background to the Josh story – there was an Arsenal scout at our game against York but he wasn’t watching anyone in particular.

“It’s a compliment to Josh that he is getting mentioned as he is playing well but, while he is getting the attention, it means other players who are playing well are sneaking under the radar and that suits us.

“There was talk of £1m but the fact is, if we do sell a player at any time, the money will go into the ground and not to me.

“So it’s immaterial to me whether we sell in January or June but I can say no one is going out in January.”

The Reds boss added:  “I have spoken to the players and they understand the situation and how we operate. They are loving getting the experience of playing regular football here.

“It is easy to love playing when things are going well, it will be a test of everyone’s character if we have a bad spell.”
