Stanley defender Liam Goulding is heading out into non-league football on loan.

The 19-year-old has joined Ashton United for an initial month.

He’ll play for former Stanley defender Steve Halford, who is now manager of the Evo Stik Premier Division side.

It’s a second spell out on loan for the youth team product, who had a successful time at Witton Albion last season.

Everyone at the Wham Stadium wishes him all the best for this temporary switch.

Meanwhile, striker Marcus Carver has extended his loan at Chorley.

He’s been with the National League North side for the past two months.
