John Coleman praised the ‘breathtaking’ moves which led to the three goals in the win over 10-man Crawley.

Josh Windass slotted home a spot kick in the 44th minute after he was fouled when racing through, Matt Crooks rifled a 20-yard effort into the net a minute later after Billy Kee set him up and Kee added the third on 88 minutes after good work from Windass, Crooks and Sean McConville.

Crawley had Luke Rooney sent off on 44 minutes for fouling Windass for the penalty.

“It was a real professional performance,” said Coleman. “They were down to 10-men after 44 minutes and our domination was because of that.

“But the build up to all three goals was fantastic. The build-up play to the penalty was breathtaking. You do not want to see players sent off but, by the letter of the law, he had to go.

“Then the other two goals were great moves. We could have scored one or two more but thankfully we weren’t made to rue the misses.

“We have said about Crooksy before that he has the tools to be a top player and I said to Billy once he scored one, they would come like buses and he has three goals in three games now.

“And it was great to keep a clean sheet. Both Joe (Wright) and Liam (Wakefield) deserve praise. They took to it like a duck to water. They competed and used the ball well.”
