John Coleman can boast a fully fit squad as he looks to make it three games unbeaten when they face Northampton Town at home tomorrow.

The Reds played a training game at Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday with Andy Procter, Shay McCartan and Keenan Quansah, all injured since the start of the season, getting some ‘game-time.’

“We had a bit of a training game against Blackburn to give nearly everyone in the squad 90 minutes,” said the Stanley boss.

“That’s been a big help for us because lads who haven’t played crave match experience.

“Keenan played a good half and Andy Procter played about 75 minutes. We’ve got everyone now competing for a place.”

Coleman knows it’s important to make the Wham Stadium a fortress after collecting their first league win of the season against Mansfield in their last home encounter.

“Every time we go and play at home we’ve got to believe we can win and set out to win. Obviously we want to win away from home as well, but we’ve got to try to make our ground a really formidable place to go to.

“We go into Northampton believing we can win. Not because they’ve lost their last two games – they’re a good side in their own right – but every team we play at home we’ve got to believe we can win.”

There were plenty of goals when the two sides met last season with a 5-4 win in Coleman’s first game back in charge away in September and then a 5-1 win for the Cobblers in Stanley’s home encounter.

“It was never a 5-4 game away from home – we were comfortably better than them,” said Coleman. “And at home they weren’t 5-1 better than us. I know they played a lot of the game with 10 men but they scored a goal on the break at 2-1 when we were kicking in. That’s been clearly shown to be four yards offside.

“That was the defining moment in the game. I’d like to think we’d be looking for a bit of payback for that but they’re looking to get back on track after a couple of defeats.”
