John Coleman was impressed with what he saw from his team as the Reds won 4-0 against Marine.
All of the goals came in the second half as Seamus Conneely and Billy Kee both got on the scoresheet whilst Adam Morgan chipped in with a brace.
The manager fielded a different team in each half and was delighted by how all 22 players performed.
“I was really, really pleased with the attitude we showed today,” said Coleman. “We played two different teams in each half, both for different reasons, and it was a difficult game.
“We contained them well in the first half, played some good football and hit the woodwork three times.
“In the second half, it helped that we scored straight from kick-off, but we did everything right and we were professional in what we did.
“We closed out the game well, we pressed when we had to and we used the ball intelligently when we had time with it. It was a smashing performance.”
With the first game of the 2015/16 SkyBet League Two season at home to Luton Town just a fortnight away, the manager admits it is getting harder and harder to decide on a starting eleven for that match thanks to the form of the players.
“Everyone who is getting an opportunity is taking it. Some of the football we played today was really good; when we got the ball, we used it really well. We’ve got be confident in getting teams on the back-foot and we want our football to be pleasing on the eye.”
