Having spent the last few weeks taking on promotion chasing teams, Stanley now change emphasis for a game with a York side looking to climb away from relegation danger.

Manager John Coleman expects this to be a tougher test than any of those encounters with the likes of Burton, Shrewsbury or Wycombe as the Minstermen head to Lancashire with their sights set on an invaluable three points.

Stanley’s aim is a first victory in six as they look to finish as high up the League Two table as possible – and avoid having to look over their shoulders in the closing weeks of the season.

Midfielder Andy Procter remains sidelined with a foot injury sustained in last weekend’s defeat at Burton.

Anthony Barry serves the last game of his three match suspension.

Defender Adam Buxton has returned to full training but goalkeeper Andrew Dawber remains doubtful after missing Tuesday’s game at Wycombe through injury.

The Minstermen have spent eight of the last 10 seasons in the Conference and two seasons in League Two.

They were promoted from the Conference in the 2011/12 season after finishing in 4^th place in the table. They were promoted after defeating Luton Town 2-1 in the play-off final at Wembley. Ashley Chambers and Matty Blair scored for the Minstermen, with Andre Gray scoring for Luton.

They have then spent the last two seasons in League Two and finished last season in 7^th place and were defeated 1-0 on aggregate in the play-off semi-final by Fleetwood Town.

Russ Wilcox

50 year old Wilcox is in his second managerial role after taking over at the Minstermen in October last year. He previously had a spell as Scunthorpe United manager between November 2013 and October 2014. He also had a spell as caretaker manager of Scunthorpe in 2004.

Prior to being a manager Wilcox had a successful playing career making over 500 appearances for a number of clubs, including Northampton Town, Hull City, Doncaster Rovers and Scunthorpe United

Jake Hyde

Striker signed in the summer after a successful spell with Barnet.

He started his career with Swindon before an initial period with the Bees before time playing north of the border in Scotland.

His first season with the Minstermen sees him leading the club’s scoring charts having netted eight goals in all competitions.

The teams have met on 58 previous occasions and Stanley hold the upper hand with 27 wins to York’s 18.

However, the Reds haven’t beaten City in the Football League since 1961 with the last Stanley victory coming at Bootham Crescent in March 2006 in a Conference fixture. Paul Mullin (2), David Brown and Ian Craney were the scorers in a 4-2 win.

Last season both matches ended in 1-1 draws and earlier this season the Minstermen were 1-0 winners at Bootham Crescent.

Stanley haven’t won in five games but will be buoyed by their performance and good point at high flying Wycombe in midweek.

The Reds are 17^th in League Two on 45 points – that’s eight points above both their visitors and the relegation places.

York are without a win in their last three since beating Cambridge 3-0 at the start of the month.

They are kept out of the bottom two on goal difference coming into the game.

Graham Horwood (Bedfordshire)

Mr Horwood is an experienced official who has been taking charge of games at Football League level since 2007.

His last Stanley game was the 2-1 win over Torquay United at the Store First Stadium in November 2013.
