John Coleman says there will be both new faces and players leaving Stanley during the January transfer window.

Seamus Conneely will be Coleman’s first signing when the transfer window opens on January 3rd but the versatile player will need international clearance and can’t play at Exeter on Saturday.

Coleman has a number of other targets but admits players will have to leave the club, with a number of loan deals expiring this month.

“We have got a big squad but it’s not costing us a fortune although times are hard,” said Coleman. “I will have to sit down with some players in the next two weeks.

“We have some players we have targeted to bring in – there won’t be a great deal but there will be changes.”

The window opens on January 3rd this year and Coleman is looking forward to wheeling and dealing.

“At this level, we don’t need a massive squad, we need a decent sized squad but it can soon be thin if we have a few injuries and suspensions.

“We do have strength in depth now but there will be one or two ins and outs and we hope we can get that right.

“We are building a squad and we have got to do what is right for the club while the individuals have to do what is right for them. There has to be a balance.

“What I will say is that just because a player isn’t playing one week, doesn’t mean he won’t be playing the week after.”
