John Coleman is desperate for his side to bounce back and show their promotion credentials at AFC Wimbledon on Saturday.

The Reds stuttered at Tranmere last time out as they slipped to a 3-0 defeat at the relegation battlers.

The Dons are level on points with Stanley in 13th place but have played a game more as both are looking to close an eight point gap to the play-off places.

“AFC Wimbledon has been a good place for Accrington in the past but they will be smarting as they lost at home to Carlisle last week,” said Coleman.

“Both teams are looking to bounce back and let’s hope it is us.”

Wimbledon have just signed Reading striker Craig Tanner on loan and also have the formidable figure of Ade Akinfenwa up front, who has scored 11 goals for Neal Ardley’s side this season.

“Wimbledon have got a far bigger support than us which enables them to spend more money and have a bigger budget,” continued Coleman.

“This technically allows them to attract better players but it doesn’t always work out that way.

“We have had some good results this season, especially away from home, we are capable of playing fantastic football on our day, but we have had some bad results as well.

“But the lads keep going, they are a good set of lads and are in good spirits.”

Coleman was hoping to have West Ham loanee Sean Maguire back at the club. His loan spell finished after the Tranmere clash but Coleman was confident of his return.

The Reds manager is also hoping defender Adam Buxton will be match fit soon following a lengthy injury.

“Bucko is chomping at the bit and I know, if I put him in, he will give his all,” added Coleman.
