Keeper Jack Rose says he will relish playing in front of a big crowd at Pompey.

The Reds take on Portsmouth today who regularly top crowds of 10,000 at Fratton Park and West Brom loan goalie Rose, who has just signed on another month’s loan at the Store First Stadium, admits it’s the biggest stage he has played on so far in his short career.

“Portsmouth have plenty of history, they have won the FA Cup and they have a great following so it’s a great experience for me,” said Rose.

“I am excited – it will be the biggest crowd I have ever played in front of and I have got to make sure I take the experience in my stride.

“I think the more fans, the better as it should bring out the best in everyone.  We want to show everyone there what we can do and I think everyone has got something to prove.”

Rose has settled into life at Accrington and the League Two experience is making him a better goalkeeper.

“I am having a great time. I feel like I am doing well and to extend my loan is good for me and the club. Playing league football has made me a better player.

“My all-round game has improved with my distribution, communication and dealing with the pressure and expectations.”
