Sean Maguire will be staying at Stanley for the festive season after extending his loan at the Store First Stadium.

The Irishman’s switch from West Ham United will now continue until 18th January.

Maguire joined the club in September and has gone on to make 13 appearances, scoring four goals.

“It’s great that we’ve been able to keep Seani,” said manager John Coleman. “I think he’ll be full of confidence following his goal at the weekend and that can only do him good.

“He’s a very good player and one who will continue to get better. You possibly miss him when he doesn’t play because of how well he gets hold of the ball and how he brings others into play. He’s quite an unselfish player. I think his team mates would miss him more than other people if he wasn’t here.

“We’ve lost John O’Sullivan but kept Seani and we have a strong squad here now. We’ve got lots of good options and Seani has been one of those since he arrived. We believe he can continue to be an important player for us.”

Maguire will be able to play against York on Boxing Day subject to his loan receiving ratification from the Football League.
