New Stanley loan goalkeeper Jack Rose insists he won’t  be overawed by the prospect of a senior debut in the FA Cup at Notts County tomorrow.

The West Brom youngster signed for the Reds yesterday and goes straight into the squad for the first round tie at Meadow Lane.

“I’m just going to take it as another game,” said the 19-year-old. “Don’t worry about the crowd or the competition, just remember that it’s eleven v eleven and I’ve got to keep the ball out of the net. Hopefully the lads up the other end will score!”

Rose trained with his new team mates for the first time yesterday and will join in with preparations again today ahead of tomorrow’s trip to take on the League One side.

“I think we’re in the position where we’ve got nothing to lose,” he explained. “We can go there with no pressure, go out there and play and pull off a win away from home. It’ll be great.

“For me an extra day of training will help. I came in yesterday and just got the gist of how things work and so another day before the game will be brilliant to get to know how people play, the strengths and weaknesses and how we play as a team.

“I hope I can do well for Accrington, get out on the pitch and play well and who knows what will happen after this initial month.”

If selected tomorrow Rose will be the sixth goalkeeper used by the Stanley first team this season with previous loanees Aaron Chapman and Jesse Joronen having to return early to their parent club through injury.

“It’s unfortunate what has happened to the keepers before me but if people have got injured it has given me my opportunity and I’ve just got to take it and touch wood it won’t happen to me!”
