Andy Procter knows more than any other Stanley player what a cup run means to the club.
Procter was part of the Reds team who reachedĀ the third round in 2003/4 season with victories over Huddersfield and Bournemouth and who also played in the narrow defeat to Fulham a few years later.
The midfielder said: “The FA Cup is something we have always taken seriously at Accrington as it can provide a big source of revenue.
“I remember when the Huddersfield game was on BBC it had more viewers than Man U v Liverpool on Sky at the same time which show the appeal the FA Cup has.
“FA Cup games are special occasions and some of our players haven’t played in an FA Cup tie before so it is a chance for them to showcase what this team is about.
“Notts County are doing well in League One but we are one of theĀ form teams in League Two and we won’t be going there with a negative attitude. We want to do ourselves justice and be in the draw for the next round.”
