A group of youngsters aged 16/17 have been fundraising for the charity, Child Brain Injury Trust. The group who are currently completing the NCS project with Accrington Stanley Community Trust spent time bag-packing, selling cakes and shaking buckets at Accrington Stanley home games.
In total they raised £491 and on Saturday the Mayor of Hyndburn Munsif Dad along with the young volunteers presented the cheque to Nathaniel Taylor and his mum Laura. Nathaniel lives in Clitheroe and underwent his second brain operation in May for an acquired brain injury. Throughout his treatment Nat was supported by the charity and along with his mum he is now an ambassador for the charity. Mum Laura explains ‘As a mum to a child with an acquired brain injury, I know how hard it can be. Without the support of this amazing charity we would be lost’. The money will go towards helping other families affected by brain injuries.
The charity would like to add a special thank you to Laura and Nathaniel for going along to collect the cheque on their behalf.
