It has been a mixed week for Stanley’s loan stars at their respective clubs.

Goalkeeper Andrew Dawber has extended his loan with Clitheroe until the end of the season.

The 19 year-old, who celebrates his 20th birthday tomorrow originally joined the Blues for two months, but will now spend the remainder of 2014/15 at Shawbridge.

Unfortunately, he was unable to repeat his heroics from the previous week as he was beaten from the penalty spot during Clitheroe’s 3-0 defeat away at Northwich Victoria.

After sitting out Tuesday night’s 5-0 defeat to Lancaster City in the League Cup, he should return to action on Saturday afternoon as Simon Garner’s side travel to the North East to face table-topping Darlington 1883.

Elsewhere, George Bowerman played 86 minutes for Stourbridge in their FA Trophy clash with Kings Lynn Town but the Glassmen crashed out of the competition, conceding two late goals to lose 3-1.

There was better luck for the side from the Midlands against Evesham United on Tuesday evening as they won 2-1 to progress to the semi-finals of the Worcestershire Senior Cup with Bowerman completing 90 minutes.

The striker will hope to be back among the goals this weekend as Stourbridge host FC United of Manchester in a league fixture.

Meanwhile, Liam Goulding played and helped to keep a clean sheet as Belper Town won 1-0 at Stamford to climb off the bottom of the EvoStik Northern Premier Division.

The Nailers will look to make it back-to-back league wins – and their third in a row in all competitions – which would take them out of the relegation zone at home to Nantwich Town on Saturday.
