Accrington Stanley Community Trust’s 4 futsal teams have all began their 2014/15 season, with a few stand out result being recorded already.
Stanley A team recorded a brilliant 4-0 win against local rivals Burnley thanks to a hat-trick from Caine Marsden. The B team are currently 2nd in their league thanks to recent wins against Blackpool & Burnley; they were also involved in an exciting 6-6 draw with Preston North End. Our C team have had a tricky start to the campaign but turned in a great performance against league leaders Carlisle Utd and were unlucky to lose the fixture. The D team recorded a shock result when they narrowly beat Sheffield Wednesday 4-3. They currently sit mid table ready to make a push for the national finals.
The Futsal course ran by the trust gives school leavers the chance to study at the club for a Btec Level 3 in sport as well as train and play in a professional environment, representing Accrington Stanley in the National Futsal League.
