Stanley defender Tom Aldred admitted it will be special for him to return to his former club Carlisle tomorrow.

Aldred, 24, began his career at Brunton Park before moving onto Watford.

“It will be weird for me,” said Aldred. “I spent three years at Carlisle, I grew up there going through a Scholarship and YTS and spent a lot of time in the away dressing rooms doing the usual YTS things.

“It will be strange to go back but it is also something I am looking forward to. A lot has changed in terms of the management but there will be a lot of backroom staff I know and still quite a few players.

“It was my first team, who I came through with as a young lad, so Carlisle will always have a special place for me and I had a lot of happy memories there.”
