Accrington Stanley players visited three Hyndburn primary schools this week to invite pupils along to a spooktastic Halloween match next Friday.

Andy Procter, Sean Maguire and John O’Sullivan went to meet children at Our Lady & St Hubert’s RC Primary in Great Harwood and Peel Park Primary in Accrington.

The trio went into classrooms to tell pupils about a special offer the club is running for their next home game next Friday, 31 October against Morecambe, as well as handing out leaflets for children to pass on to parents.

Meanwhile, Marcus Carver popped into St Wulstan’s RC Primary in Great Harwood – a familiar haunt for the striker as his brother attends the school and Marcus coaches their football team in his spare time.

Children under 12 go free at the Morecambe game – which kicks off at 7.45pm on Friday 31 October – as long as they come along in their spookiest fancy dress to celebrate Halloween with Stanley.

They must be accompanied by an adult, who can pay on the gate – and the club promises plenty of scary treats on the night as well as the useful family football fun.

Andy Procter said: “It’s really good for us to go out and visit schools, us lads enjoy it and the kids do too – hopefully this will encourage more young fans to come along and watch a game.”
