Accrington Stanley Community Trust are hosting an Education Open Evening Tonight at the Store First Stadium for people interested in the Futsal Education Scholarships.
The event will be starting at 5:30pm in the Hospitalilty Suite and is aimed at Year 11 students who are looking towards the next step of their education in September 2015.
Accrington Stanley Community Trust introduced a Futsal Education Scholarship programme in 2012. This is a unique opportunity for talented 16-19 year old football players to pursue a 2 year Futsal Education Scholarship. We take on a maximum of 20 school leavers each year to take part in this exciting programme.
Staying at School or going to college is not the right choice for everyone, but you can still gain a first class education that will get you to university by choosing neither of those. If the idea of staying on at school or going to college is not for you, then why not consider studying your education here at Accrington Stanley and playing Futsal for the club?
We will ensure that learners are fully prepared for the future as the scholarship includes a full-time education package incorporating:
BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma (worth 3 A Levels) – Allows access to university and further study as well as opening the door to a coaching career in football or Futsal.
During the Scholarship you can also earn qualifications that will help you gain employment in the sport and leisure industry; as well as training and competing in a professional Futsal environment for Accrington Stanley against other clubs in the Football League.
‘’Futsal is an extremely important way for kids to develop their skills and understanding of the game. My touch and my dribbling have come from playing futsal’’
Ronaldinho, FIFA World Footballer of the Year 2004 & 2006
As a key element of the FA’s strategy to develop the game and produce players capable of representing England, Accrington Stanley Community Trust are now offering this exciting and innovative programme. Learners will receive high quality Futsal training for a minimum of four hours a week. Training will be supplemented with fortnightly regular fixtures against other professional clubs. Each year we will also send four scholars to represent Accrington Stanley at England national team trials.
The course is based at Accrington Stanley Football Club in the newly refurbished hospitality lounge, with all matches taking place at the regional Futsal Arena in Leeds. The hospitality lounge is a non-traditional learning environment situated in the football stadium and is equipped with the latest laptop computers and other digital equipment to aid learning in unique ways.
‘’In Futsal you have to think quickly and play fast. It’s a great environment in which to learn’’

Please feel free to just turn up on the night.
