JOHN Coleman was happy with a point at Newport County – but knows it could have been three.
Sean Maguire put Stanley ahead in the 62nd minute and then Shay McCartan hit the post, it bounced out to Marcus Carver and he scored – but it was ruled off side.
Joe Pigott rescued a point for County on 72nd minute with a wonder goal.
Coleman said: “We are disappointed as we got ourselves into the lead and got them on the ropes and missed two glorious chances.
“On another day Shay’s shot goes in but it hit the inside of the post and bounced out and it’s Sod’s Law that Marcus was offside.
“You need that little bit of luck and it deserted us today and that’s the difference as that was their only shot in the second half.
“But I think on the balance of the whole game, a draw was possibly a fair result.
“Saying that, the amount of time we controlled the second half and limited their chances in the second half after we took the lead, we are disappointed we didn’t see it out.”
