John Coleman has completed his second signing since returning to the Store First Stadium, capturing West Ham forward Sean Maguire on loan.
The 20-year-old, who spent a successful spell under the tutelage of Coleman and Jimmy Bell at Sligo Rovers in his native Ireland, will spend an initial month in East Lancashire.
“I saw that John and Jimmy had got the job at Accrington and I was called in after training at West Ham and they said that John and Jimmy wanted to take me on loan,” he said. “As soon as I found out I was really excited and I wanted to come straight up here because I know that this is a great club with a good history. I’m really happy to be here now.”
Maguire has been a regular in the West Ham Under 21’s set up and was named as a substitute for the FA Cup tie at Nottingham Forest last season.
He’s looking forward to working with Stanley’s returning management team and getting the chance to play competitive football.
“The plan is to make an impact and score a few goals and get a few assists to get the club up the table,” he explained. “I’ve worked with John and Jimmy at Sligo and I have a good relationship with them so I’m really excited to be working with them again.”
Maguire could be involved at Northampton tomorrow subject to Football League and Premier League ratification.
