Accrington Stanley Community Trust have delivered two fun days in local primary schools this week. The fun days consisted of sports sessions along with children having the opportunity to take shots at our giant inflatable target.

St Mary Magdalen’s and Broadfield School both received fun days in their schools with over 350 children in total taking part. Sport Development Officer for the Trust Chris Mullen said ‘’We are now pushing our fun days to schools where we go and deliver a one day special event for all the children. We bring an inflatable target along with multi sports equipment to engage with the school. Both schools thoroughly enjoyed their day with us and we hope to further our involvement by delivering to more schools in the coming weeks’’.

As a charity that seeks to help individuals achieve their goals, we believe it is every child’s entitlement to access high quality sports provision. Sport on a whole in the UK is no longer seen as an activity which only the gifted sports person participates in, but a crucial element of a child’s education, whatever their ability.

With years of experience of working within schools in Hyndburn, Accrington Stanley Community Trust is in a strong position and offers many professional and well-structured sport and educational sessions including; School Sports Programme to cover teachers’ PPA, multi-skills training, after school clubs, sports opportunities for children with learning and physical disabilities, day visits, school fundraising activities and elite clubs (for pupils identified as being gifted and talented in sport).

The schools development team consists of dedicated professionals who hold relevant coaching qualifications, first aid certificate and child protection and CRB disclosures. By ensuring our staffs have diversified in many sports over the years, the Trust has been able to grow the schools and education programme, which caters for the demands of modern day schooling.
