Tomorrow sees Stanley’s youngsters kick off the New Year as they take on high flying Blackpool in the Lancashire FA Professional Youth Cup.
The game will be played at QEGS Harrison Playing Fields, Lammack Road, Blackburn BB1 8LA and kick off will be 2pm.
Stanley will come into game full of confidence after finishing 2013 unbeaten in their last eight games and with an impressive, extra time FA Youth Cup victory over West Ham as their last result.
That game saw goals from Nathan Webb and Max Hazeldine secure a historic 2-1 win and the team will hoping for another cup victory to kick-off the New Year in style when they take on Blackpool.
Blackpool like Stanley also boast impressive form ahead of the game, they sit top of the table in the Youth Alliance having lost only one game and drawn three from their 15 games so far. Blackpool’s last game was at the weekend where they convincingly beat Preston North End 6-1.
In addition to their impressive league form, the Tangerines are also through to the semi-final of the Northern Area Youth Alliance Cup but are out of the FA Youth Cup after losing on penalties to Liverpool.
Spectators are welcome but please be aware that facilities are limited.
