This Saturday Stanley’s Youth side take centre stage in the absence of a first team fixture. The side are in action at the Store First Stadium vs Preston North End (11am KO) with admission just £2 for adults.

Neither side were in action last weekend with both teams last playing on the 26th November. Preston’s last result was a convincing 3-0 win over Fleetwood in the LFA Professional Youth Cup whilst Stanley’s last game was a hard fought 1-1 draw away to Burnley.

The game is the only league game in the North West section of the Youth Alliance this weekend with most of the other sides competing in the 2nd Round of the Youth Alliance Cup.

Preston currently sit in ninth in the league table, three points ahead of the Reds and a win for Stanley would see them leapfrog Wigan in tenth and potentially go as high as eighth, although with Burnley’s superior goal difference Stanley would need to win by a margin of over 14 goals to achieve that making North End’s place in ninth a more achievable target.

Similarly to Stanley’s game vs West Ham on Tuesday, Preston are also in the 3rd round of the FA Youth Cup and they’ll play Norwich on Wednesday. With that in the back of their minds both sides will be hoping for all three points this weekend to give them momentum ahead of their midweek games.

As always we welcome your support and with no first team game, get your Stanley fix by coming to see stars of the future. If you can’t make it, we’ll have live match updates on Twitter at @ASFCyouth.

Admission is just £2 for adults and £1 for all concessions – kick off is 11am
