Two of Stanley’s loan players locked horns at the weekend in Barrow’s 2-1 FA Trophy victory at Chester.

Young striker Marcus Carver netted the Bluebirds’ two goals as they came from behind to cause a first round upset, with Barrow in the division below.

The 20-year-old is set to return to the Store First Stadium later this week.

On loan Chester man George Miller, who joined the Exacta Stadium outfit last week, was substituted just after the hour mark but his display earned some positive reviews.

His next chance to impress will be in Saturday’s Skrill Premier match against Braintree Town.

Saturday’s result means Barrow now face Maidenhead United at home at the next stage.
