James Beattie wants his players to maintain their performance levels as the Reds look for a third successive win in League Two.

Wycombe Wanderers are the visitors, with Stanley hoping for a further three points to back up victories over Bristol Rovers and Morecambe.

“It’s about keeping our feet on the floor and not getting too giddy,” said the manager. “We had an excellent week and I said to myself that if we could get seven points then it would change the way the table looks. That’s all it has done really. It’s obviously given the lads a little bit of extra confidence but we need to remain focused and remember that we’re still bottom of the table.

“I believe there’s enough in the dressing room for that to change and the way we’ll do that is to keep concentration, keep discipline and keep working hard.

“Consistency is always a good thing to have, as long as it’s positive. Being consistently bad isn’t good! We’ve got a little bit of momentum now which we need to keep going and hopefully if we can remain consistently good then we’ll pick up some more results.”

Beattie’s team are now unbeaten in their last four matches and he’s calling on the whole squad to continue to rise to the occasion of match day.

“When you cross the white line it’s totally different; it’s work. If you are single minded and focused totally on winning football matches then you don’t have to be a nice guy on the pitch.

“I know loads of nice guys off the pitch who are absolute animals on it. We’re trying to teach our lads to be polite and well mannered off the pitch and on it but we’re trying to instil a bit of extra steel in them too. I think that’s showing through at the moment.

“I’ve said to them that physically and talent-wise there’s no problem for them in any football match, it’s more about the mental side of the game. If they approach the games with the right mental attitude then I have every faith in them getting the results.”
